Constructed of brown earthenware, the obverse bearing a central map of Crete, topped by a mobile swastika and situated above a fasces, circumscribed by an inscription of EINNAHME VON KRETA 20. MAI 1. JUNI 1941 (CAPTURE OF CRETE 20 MAY 1 JUNE 1941), the reverse bearing a depiction of paratroopers jumping from planes, circumscribed by an inscription of SIEG DER FALLSCHIRMJGER LUFTLANDETRUPPEN UND FLIEGER
