Victorian 18k Gold "AEI" Oval Locket mourning jewellery often with the inscription GoldDATE: Victorian, c. 1870 An especially lovely antique AEI locket, each letter studded with gemstones: ruby, diamond, and emerald. A classic oval shape, and complete with the original bail, the piece is modelled in rich 18 karat gold throughout. AEI was a popular Victorian sentiment, the letters standing for Amity, Eternity and Infinity representing everlasting love, even after death. This locket dates from circa 1870, opens to reveal two old
