Germany, Kriegsmarine. A Submarine Badge, 1957 Version United Republic of Both the front visor and(U Boot Kriegsabzeichen). Constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a central U Boat, the national and eagle is omitted in the 1957 version, the reverse is plain and bears a vertical pinback with a flat wire catch, measuring 48. 76 mm (w) x 37. 60 mm (h), weighing 31. 3 g, very fine.
