Description
the islands of St Kilda occupy and almost mythical place in the Scot's soul
The tartan was recorded by the City of Dunedin in Lord Lyon Public Register of all Arms & Bearings 36/86 on 25th November 1947
This is said to be one of the oldest of the tartans produced by Wilsons of Bannockburn
This tartan is unnamed in the Highland Society of London Collection (original has a much smaller sett)
The association was not always a happy one and the 'broken' MacEwans settled in various parts of Lennox
